What is a decramastic roof?
Pressed-metal tiles with a stone-chip coating, hugely popular on NZ homes from the 1960s through the 1980s. The metal tiles last for decades — it's the chip-and-coating surface that wears out.
Can my decramastic roof be restored, or does it need replacing?
Most can be restored — chip loss, fading and surface rust are exactly what restoration fixes. If we find tiles rusted through or damage past saving, we'll tell you straight at the free inspection.
What does restoration involve?
Clean and repair, a binding basecoat (doubled on roofs in poorer condition), fresh stone chip to restore the texture, then two premium finish coats. Most jobs take 1–3 days.
How much does it cost compared to replacing the roof?
